’Cause I’ve got a pretty big penis, I’ve made the board a bit wider as it helps it float better. My template’s pretty normal, in that it’s a bit straight with a nice curve. The really cool things about my board are the new stringer system and the concave. Here’s a rundown on how my board words; bat-tails make a board loose and concaves in the slick make the board tight. Bat-tails also give you speed. Combine those aspects and you get the speed of a bat-tail, yet it still holds like a crescenttailed board. I think they work well together. It also means that on the same board, I can still get speed in small waves and hold my line in big waves, like the recent Cloudbreak sessions.
We’ve also introduced a new stringer system. The board now has two smaller stringers on the sides down at the tail and a big stringer running up the middle of the board. It gives you great flex, but stiffness in the tail. I reckon that works because when you’re bottom turning, you lose speed when your board flexes. If the back of your board is strong then you get more speed as it’s crisp and fast in that it’ll hold the drive better. We also made the core a bit thinner too so it feels a bit more responsive, but it’s still stronger than a normal board because it’s got the stringers.
The whole way my boards are designed, with the stringer system, the concave and the bat-tail – it’s all directed towards speed. Anyone that wants to go slow on a wave, don’t buy my board. I reckon it’s the fastest board out there.
