The inaugural Brendon Backshall Teenage Riot went down on the weekend in 1-2ft, wind affected waves at Mandurah Wedge. Though the waves were far from amazing it didn't seem to affect the riders as they still went berserk in the little peaks with plenty of rolls, spins, ARS's being busted and a huge backflip was launched (and ridden out into the rocks) by George Humphries in the final for the Under 20's division (it was move of the day and earned George a sponsorship from Manta).
It was great to see so many groms and their families at the event, and even better to see them thoroughly get behind the two charities that the Teenage Riot was supporting - the Jaago Foundation and Beyond Blue. The many raffles that ran throughout the day managed to raise approximately $400 for the charities - which is rad.
A massive thank you must go to Manta, Reeflex and I Am None for their support of the event and we're sure that winners of the boards (there were five given away), the two Reeflex wetsuits and gear and the huge collection of I Am None clothing would certainly agree with us. In fact Brendo actually commented that he hadn't never seen so much product given away at a bodyboarding event.

Check out this blog Patty Mazz (got to love WA speak) as it has plenty of great photos of the Teenage Riot finalists.
