cap its not that hard to spend 5 mins making a blog on blogger and going on after every surf and writing it down like you would normally, if we put our single entries into the comp thread then its gunna turn into a mess IMO

well done KC, up there for thinking mate.
Meaksy - man you put a story together so well, it is worth banging an entry in , even if it is for one surf only, because you also tell about getting there and back and interesting (polite word for car breakdowns etc) anecdotal stuff about the trip there and back.

Entries posted to the forum are excellent - or blog if you want. If your doing an entry over time for direct loading here, just write each section up on a word document and load it in a single block when you are done. If you think about it, there have already been posts in the forum exactly along these lines - Meaksy's Yorkes trip springs to mind, some of Swoodle's mental gear, a couple of Boog's stories in the yarns sections and Captain has some fierce ones. They're just a few that spring to mind that already fall perfectly into the criteria and they aren't even in the comp.
slave got the video embeds organised specifically for this so it can be onsite and looking rad if you get vid.
Mind you, knowing the judges, the emphasis will be on creative word content I would reckon. Working with one of them to get the standard of comp reporting lifted , instead of the (as Gardy would describe them ) "dry as weetbix without milk" reports.

i gotta fly , but the contest is about creative Bodyboard logs so wish to say as little as possible.

cheers,

Doc

KC, good one mate, love the fire shots,
just so you know, you accidently hyperlinked the 'to' on your photobucket link so it doesnt go to your photo bucket.
also did you make the slide show ones in photobucket, Im working on a blog for this comp (will post link soon) and want to do the same but im not real computer savvy.

i am also having problems with the blogger website becasue it wont let me paste anything in the text box when i start a new post. Ive got some stuff written in word i want to paste in but it wont let me, i have to paste it in to the subject heading then drag it down which takes ages cause you can only to about 20 words at a time,. Anyone else have this problem

thanks meaksy, i fixed the hyperlink and made the album public. the program i use to make the slideshow is called photoscape, its free and you just select the photos you want made into a strip and it does it automatically, all you have to do is change the size to your liking, here there site http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php, the program can easily make gifs(moving picture, like my sig) really easily...
I also the problem with not being able to paste stuff into the post, i dont write mine in word docos anyway so i dont get the problem of not being able to paste several hundred words

Hmmm, not quite sure where that came from, hippies aren't very good with time I hear, haha.

It's in the initial comp post, just above the rules, I'll go back and highlight it so is easier to see :)

Entries for the competition are open now, with the competition closing at midnight on the 31st of October 2009. So started documenting all your bodyboarding tales!

The Rules.

While I'm here, I posted this after the original details if anyone is interested in supporting a blog dedicated to our scene:

Just updating. Some of the entrants are choosing to create online blogs to submit as their entry, which is great. One of our boogers in Queensland, Jaymie Jones, has created an online Surfers diary, specifically for those of us who love the ocean, at http://surfersdiary.com/ This site was only launched on the 2nd of October, so is super fresh. There is no expectation for entrants to use this at all, simply giving a heads up on a site specific to our boog riding interest designed by one of our own. there are features of the site more expansive than a standard blog site and so may help with your creativity.

For a profile on Surfers diary, go to viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3380

Good Times,

Doc
