fargin hell - that place is just mind boggling, great footage, you could watch that over and over. I was there a few years back and I can honestly say that the wave is absolutely frightening. I remember just sitting on the rocks trying to work up the courage to paddle out. My first session at the joint it took me the best part of two hours to finally grow some balls and get out there. Luckily there's a right hander not too far away that has a perfect barrel with an end bowl section that could make any average punter think they could fly. I'm curious as to why there hasn't been any footage or pics of the place with pros on it as when I was there the locals practically dragged me there as if to show it off.

ah Mr BoogieKnight,

good to hear from you - firstly on a local note there is a sweet little shot of North Bra break in the latest Frothers mag released on the weekend - in the East section. Small but super sweet frame in landscape to bo the peeling baz justice.

Yes, weird how you don't see much footage or pics commercially. If you head down to the "Events" section here there is an arica thread which a few of us went mental on during the webcast. anyways I have just put up a link to the preview for the Arica dvd, released sept 2nd with the dude's contact details.
Also in there is an interview with Chico Garritano after PLC gave him those stitches... it's on the IBA website. If u go through a few pages you will see some insane shots. there arent as many there as nearer the time, but still show its great form.

orrrrr - if you are greedy bugger - hehe - you can go to:

http://picasaweb.google.com/ibamedia

and see all the pics from each day (100's)..like this:

and this:

in full size - and you can enlarge them heaps... way bigger than this:
Image

and bigger than this - it is a mad site  - like Winny - yew!

k... so I have seen the MADDEST wipeout pic today - it is in 8.3 bodyboarder mag.. is an unknown rider in a 10 shot sequence getting totally wiped at shippies - the dude is fully spinning full bodylength on a monster barrel. Have checked tim jones site - and it isnt there.. bugger! so worth paying the $5 for the mag just to see thisabsolute farking CLASSIC.. but way sick in the guts just looking at it....

yer was in the jose and Winny feature at Shippies, but is quoted as:

"....this guy scored a dozen doughnuts. Shipsterns was hungry. This monster sucked him up and swallowed him whole. Unidentified rider in the belly of the beast."
