Not sure i'd enjoy losing my board at gunna - especially on a bigger day with a rip running - did you body surf in or get your board back minus the leash? Reefs were pretty small at jan juc today but got better as tide went out & winds were light offshore - relaxing morning. Started with beachies -ordinary - got one (yes - one) wave at bird rock & decided hustle wasn't going to be worth it & paddled over to sparrows - also small but clean. Fun session in small waves - see pics.

Did you see a kneeboarder out there on a white Strapper board Derwent?
My old man surfed the rock this morning, said it was fun. Sounds like it was crowded though.

Yeah my mate went in and chased down my board and alittle bodysurfing action was had into the shore to retrieve it picked up a new leash that arvo and headed down for another surf Sunday hit up Meanos was some great swell hitting flinders so was out for awhile but a nice free fall saw me on the side lines for abit ribs are alittle sore so watched my mate for about an 1hr or so and that was better then funniest home video's between him on a knee board and another guy on standup the wipe outs were brilliant i wish we had the Go-Pro with us to get some footage i was pissing myself laughing nearly the whole hour. Looking at your photo's seems like some great wave over your side of town!!

I hung around the rock for all of ten minutes savage - got one nice wave straight away & then figured it was going to get even more crowded - them noticed sparrows was working & had two people on it - decision made. I saw one liddie out - a guy with a lime green board - you know - i may have see your old man paddling out from the beach - i saw a liddy with a white board on the beach - could well have been him?? The board looked 'well loved"?
Meanos sounds well named chops - i know what you mean about wipe outs - fact is I hate wiping out - but unfortunately I am not a good enough human being to not laugh when it is someone else copping it. Good to tap into the body surfing skills - lost my board at 13th on a big day & had to body surf in - sizey swell but no rip so wasn't too bad. Hope your ribs come good soon - can be a bit nasty.

I nearly did the same thing chops - alarm went at 5am but thunder storm was in full swing - very tempted to roll over and go back to sleep. I surfed say 100m to left of wooden stairs (2nd carpark) looking out to the sea - it looked crap when I got there but ended up being pretty good fun even though it wasn't that big. At least you'll be in the good books now - few brownie points up your sleeve.

Tell me about it i said to the wife last night i am thinking of heading off for a surf trip somewhere in the car for 2 or 3 days relive the good old days sleep anywhere live of canned food n beer just need to warm her up to the idea. I usually hit 2nd car park myself and do same thing look for a bank thats hopefully not too crowded but when you get a good bank at gunna its magic!!

Hmmm - trying to get a leave pass can be tricky chops - maybe talk about your feelings with her - that sometimes works with my wife - she sees straight through it of course but sometimes she takes pity on me anyway. Last roadie i had was in november last year - five days with my old crew talking crap and catching waves - must be getting soft though - we stayed in a house.

Apparently yesterday was all-time!
Tomorrow and Tuesday morning look to be really good too.
Sometimes I hate work (N). Also got some more work done on my arm. No surf for about a week more
