Go a 3D core or whatever the other companies are calling them these days jetz.
They are the sandwich layer core that has both PE and PP fused into one. Works really good for our conditions down here. Good all year round. I've found PE in summer down here sucks. Way too flexy - like one of those pool toy foam stick things. But I also hate PP, too stiff. The mixed core is a really nice balance.

Swellnet has forecast great waves for torquay - it looks a bit average to me - onshore winds for most spots etc. Also calling good waves for pt leo sunday despite wind out of the south - is it worth a paddle down there on the reefs with onshore winds, assuming theres enough swell wrapping into the bay? Btw - did anyone get out earlier in the week - it looked pretty good early.

Well, blew off the cob webs and endured the cold. Hit Torquay today. First run for the season. Really good quality 4-6 foot sets. A little rusty but the pre season training payed off only had to get out when I just got too cold (soft). Can't wait for the sun to shine a bit more and the temp to get ubove 13 degrees. Got the bug again, new board time! See you all out there again!

where did u go at torquay jetzboy?

Got a bung shoulder so last session was the pic above at sparrows - physio said to rest it - hoping will be ok to go this weekend.Suspect i've got a minor case of 'swimmers' or 'surfers' shoulder - prob add some hand weights to routine to balance out all the paddling - if u know any good exercises feel free to post em up - all ears.

Had a couple of really good sessions lately. Thursday around noon surfed Southside, near bells.
Me and my mate scored, literally us 2 out for about 3 hours. 3-4ft, really clean (that gale winds had dropped off by then) and long drainers.
Lost my board on a wipeout and it got wedged between rocks against the cliff. It was high tide by then and was seriously almost contemplating leaving my board and going home. It was a sketchy mission and somehow I didn't die retrieving it from sets smashing against the cliff. Current was mean in there too. Managed to get it and get back out there and have some fun.

Friday arvo surfed a spot me and a stand up friend found. In such a cool little cove. Nothing amazing but a really fun vibe with some good shorebreak action.

See clip below (I'm on the blue VS board). That last wave I got broke in knee deep water, sucked me over head first and drilled me into the sand neck first. Hurt but was one of the funnest waves I got for the sesh.

loved the little vid - haha - definition of a shorey - looked like you could have just about built a sand castle on that last crunching little section - youch - would have me back at the physio in double time :)

Hey Howie, welcome to the forum mate.
If your ever keen for a paddle, PM me. There's very few lidders around the surf coast, so always good to go out with other boogs.
I usually just surf with stand-up mates.

What board did ya get?

A new surf coast bodyboarders, that must make about 3 of now! Welcome. Howie 66 or anyone else down this way pm me if your thinking of going out. My times are all over the show depending on work. Went out today at Torquay nice clean 2-3 foot an easy paddle, but best of all broke in my new ride. Got me a Toys Dylan Lee PP 2 stringer. Awesome DK board very quick, stiff and so stable. Waters seems to have gained half a degree summer just around the bend! Again Howie 66 shoot Me a message if you wanna catch up for a wave. Out.
