Might even get some offshore winds on the weekend :) . A mate told me catching waves in lumpy onshore conditions improves your skills - probably true - but like a lot of things that are 'good for you' it still kind of bites.

someones a happy camper then.

Going to get up early for a beachie on sat & sunday - first surf check will be gunna - if banks look ok will jump straight in - otherwise will keep looking nearby.

Let me know how you go at 13th on sunday or monday - only guessing but forecas for tomorrow maybe a better bet than Monday? If there is any west in the wind I generally head to the surf coast breaks near jan juc like 'sparrows' or pt break or beachie at torquay back beach - have assumed west winds no good for 13th breaks, like the beacon. Anyway - probably going to stick to my gunnamatta plan for tomorrow - wasn't bad today - maybe a bit smaller & messier than I was hoping for, although some OK sets came through.

**EDIT - just checked the forecast - monday am at 13th looks good too - in fact maybe 13th tomorrow is a better bet

If any of you guys are keen to hit up anywhere around the surf coast Monday let me know. Otherwise I might go down south if its too small.

Be fun to hook up monday but i have stuff on - maybe one day when you guys aren't charging house high hell reef barrel slabs of destruction while killer whales frolic in the background i could have a crack - big fan of sparrows and bird rock for example. Anyway - hope you guys score some good ones tomorrow & or monday.

Ended up at rye today - killer rip - saw the shore and the rest of the pack getting smaller and smaller - almost yelled out - "Tell the world my story" . Jokes aside wasn't much fun being sucked out to tasmania - i thought I was in trouble but there was a guy 50m further out than me - eventually poor bugger paddled in a couple of hundred metres down the coast looking like a drowned rat - that rip is no joke and not to be treated lightly. BTW if 13th was really good I don't want to know.

Sorrento back beach chops? Have seen people & liddies there before but got the impression (maybe wrong impression) that it was a tad on the fickle side. I was at gunna yesterday on an ok left beachie - heading left as you look out to sea from 2nd carpark - wasn't bad but not great either. Gunna wasn't working that well when I looked today - one ok spot had a surf comp going - portsea looked clean enough but couldn't see a decent bank - hence the rye experiment. Pretty much my fault today re the rip - I generally keep an eye on the shore but got distracted & next thing you know I was way out the back - not much fun getting back in either.

I'll be down that way again for sure chops & will let you know. I try and do a once a week run and go in both directions - surf coast or mornington because its about the same distance from home - i head to mornington if i think the surf coast is going to be small or the winds aren't right and I go to surf coast if i think the beachies are closing out at mornington or if there is W in the wind. Don't know much about flinders or phillip island breaks & westernport is fine when working but needs to be pretty big swell it seems.

My wifes rels have shown me a couple of 'non' beachie breaks down morno but I haven't got them wired - whenever I check them they are not working - gather you probably have this sussed.
