Had work off today. Such a nice day, sunny and warm with not a breath of wind.
Surfed the rock in the morning with dad. Only about 5 other guys out which wasn't too bad. Managed to sneak a few bombs in from the pack but mainly got the smaller inside ones. Few nice barrels. Really fun surf, had been stingin' for a sesh out there and today the goods were delivered.
Then on the high tide (1.79m) just surfed Juc main. Fun little wedgy shorey barrels.
The only bad thing was it was very inconsistent between sets.

Good day all up, will sleep well tonight that's for sure.

gotta love the mid-week session savage - the rock sounds like the highlight to me although jan juc on mega high tide wouldn't have been too shabby. I'm stuck with weekend option - winds looking a bit suss but will go sometime no matter what.

Torquay pt had some size today. Prob more of a long boarders wave but still got some decent rights - damm cold though - old leaky wettie on.

bummer about the flu chops - hopefully you are coming good & will back out soon getting amongst it. Was better fun than expected at torquay - had to pick up my repaired wettie from ripcurl so was always going in that direction but winds were better than forecast. haven't been out in bigger swell for awhile - good practise sat - rolling sloping walls rather than big close outs so pretty forgiving session really apart from a few lumps and bumps on wave face with strong W wind.

Hadn't seen this swoodle. Magic seaweed is ok - good for longer outlook - but I think i'd be checking again on sunday before begging my boss for a day off - seems like some models are calling it a fair bit smaller?? But then again - could be sour grapes because i know i can't get the day off - haha

Did you get out midweek savage?? Saw some pics on swellnet & vic looked like it was pumping during the week. Yesterday was just ok - pretty close to a windswell with peaky wonky waves off torquay pt on a dropping tide - not many out though & still good fun. Pathetic pic but i'll post up anyway.

Sorry about the delay. Yeah I did Derwent, surfed Wednesday morning.
Ended up at Grinders, was really fun 3-4ft wedges. Some good lefts but mainly surfed the rights away from the pack a bit. Got 2 really good barrels and heaps of other fun waves. Dad said he surfed Bells and it was a good 6-8ft. Surprisingly the swell didn't hit where we surfed as big as I thought it would be. Still solid though.
Stupidly me and my mate didn't climb down the cliff and opted to do the walk around (good half hour walk) the beach way, and by the time we started walking heaps of dudes where coming back our way because the tide was already too high to get around. We had to climb back up the cliff and walk along the highway back to the car after our surf which took about an hour. But if it beats getting up and down that cliff I'm all for it.
