I'm not sure about the quality control of these boards. This board snapped out 3 ft teahupoo, 90% sure it was made out of two blanks stuck together just below the stringer tip. It was only its second session. I would get a science instead, every science i have had (3) has been really functional and durable.

I've used mine from everything from 1ft gutless beachies to 6-8ft Box and 6ft Mitchell's wedge and I haven't had a problem. Holds together perfectly. Maybe you should just treat it better!

i am just saying the particular board my friend was using broke on its second surf, and it appeared to manufactored by gluing together two blanks instead of shaping from a single blank. Boards are made to be ridden, i don't know how to treat them better than that. I'm glad your board is good, but anybody who is considering buying this board should also know that some of the copies are lemons.

So just riding it is treating it good?
Stuff like leaving it in the sun, throwing it round and just generally not caring for its welfare (sounds like I'm talking about people here...) will all help to keep quality and make it last. I'm not a full on freak when it comes to keeping it new, because I like boards that are beaten in, but I take care of it. I chuck it onto the ground out of the car, it's got plenty of scratches/scrapes/holes/creases but they have all come through use in the water.
Companies recommend that you wash it after every surf, leave it lying flat under your bed, keep it in a board sock etc. but that is taking it too far. Just don't trash it too hard and it will serve you.

Yea, there are duds with every board.

And Samuel, I was looking through the other photos in that album and the others from Chopes are sweet as.
