one of my fave riders.. can surf pretty much everything, didnn't really rate him two years back to tell you the truth. but since then he's just been riding so good!!! so sick about him produces a new film... and in his words he wanted it to be as good as something shown at a film fest, and he actually wants it to make one of those shows!!!! hope that made sence

Holy f@k I can't believe that I wrote that 2 years ago.

Seeing mitch surf in real life was incredible, the speed he garners on the smallest waves is insane, and everything he does is controlled and perfected.

I can't believe how deluded I was in regards to style, assuming 'flat cregs' were the epitome of skill and style.

i think the massively tweaked inverts are insane, like seriously who else can tweak an invert that far??

isnt the second photo of that interview - the one they claim is from the SIC, isnt it part of his Shippies sequence?

Take the latest movement cover, that rev is disgusting!

And in th waldron bros podcast, some of those left flips were frogs legs! and only some inverts are good, some he over tweaks them and it looks rank.
just my opinion.

discuss.

haha didn't think i'd ever hear someone bagging out rawlins' style...

okay, well i can understand where you are coming from with his left flips, but consider that the frog leg flips were pulled off closeout sections, that most people wouldnt even try to flip off. i just watched his podcast again. in my opinion, he has the best overall surfing ability of the current australian freesurfing crop. you can see he has worked on style hugely, bar the uncrossed legs on left flips, everything is pretty much perfect, even when he is not doing a trick. you can see the small attention to detail, in the perfect body and leg/fin positioning between sections. above all, the guy has riding a wave dialed

if your going to fault such minor things in rawlins surfing, saying they make his style 'seedy' what do you think of ben player? or the others. i can't think of anybody who surfs completely flawlessly.

also, we are just judging off these podcasts, that were filmed in a few days of waves. should be interesting to see the mitchvid 2.0.

Fair enough man, i think steve is right though. He is always so comfortable in critical situations and probably has the best trick selection in the world at the moment. I think you pay just a little too much attention to detail.
Also i dont think theres such a thing as over tweaking a vert.

jonesay, he still does those inverts, but obviously he can only launch inverts like that when the waves allow..
