I have to say when he was younger I thought he was good but didn't really dig his surfing but now I love it, if I am going to watch prone surfing he is 1 of the 5 or so guys I love to watch.

Absolute champion. I met him in Bali in April, surfing canggu with him for 5 days. I must say he was the maddest dude ever, having a chat, having lunch with us and just being like any other guy in the water. Watching him surf those waves in real life was pretty dam amazing. Drawing lines I thought didn't exist. Truly inspirational and a real eye opener. Post some shots of him on facebook and tag him and he comments. What a mad dude! If you ever get a chance to see him surf in real life than do it!

You didn't know that? He pretty much throws a tantrum every Pipe comp (with justifiable reasons). I saw him this year, he was so over it on the beach.
Generally speaking, he always gets knocked in a really, really unlucky way, tends to be in the last 5 minutes of his heats too.
In previous years, mostly the reason for him doing it, is the scoring is inconsistent and unfair. A mate of mine said he saw him come in after one of his heats he got knocked in, and fully roared the judges a few years back for shitty scoring. Fair enough I reckon.
