Mawake came 2nd in his first heat today, which unfortunately means he's gone, but he said he was leading for the whole heat until 5 minutes to go when Tim Fowler came through and just beat him.

He just got back from the Shark Island Trails (got knocked first round), but he got some epic shots from the Island on a big day.

Pretty solid.
He's probably the most committed dude I know, around our age, from this area. He is just so keen to take his boogin' as far as he can. Always keen for surfs and is prepared to travel for waves.
