I think the IBA should steer away from Sintra each year. Not sure why they always seem to put faith in it, it's never bigger than 2ft and always poor quality.

I'm sure there's more logistics and politics behind it, but still...

Edit: Apparently they've put it on hold now for a couple of hours.

The surf isn't real big at the moment. Hope it picks up during the event.
I'm worried about getting into the sea, a japanese whaling ship might have a go at me!

Ok conditions for day two

saw a little of round 1 and 2 of the main event last night. While the wave isnt very spectacular it is pretty amazing seeing what the pros do in a dodgy beachbreak

Definite improvement in the waves in comparison to the first day.

Spot on Meaksy. There's a definite skill in making a lot from a little. In some ways it's a lot tougher than performing in good waves. But from a viewer's perspective, that skill doesn't necessarily amount to much really...

I was hooting for winny too. I hope he can hold his lead and get a world title. He's surfing so good.
How good is lesters return to the pro scene. He's been killing it too.

I know what you mean but overall i was pretty stoked with this comp. The highlights packages make pretty good tutorial vids for the sort of waves a lot of riders out there would be having fun on.
