NSW North Coast

Postby deathy » Sat Jul 16, 2011 4:38 pm

Recently moved back to the north coast, near Ballina, and started booging again after a 10 year (at least) hiatus.

Where does everyone boog up here? Everywhere i go i'm surrounded just by sand panthers and all my mates just surf the points. Whats the deal with South Wall Ballina? i've heard it goes alright but it's a prick of drive. worth it?

Hey dude i lived in byron all my life (only left to travel) so i can help you out with this... Around ballina you've got a couple of options, northwall, shellys, tressles which is a little rock shelf is dead fun. South wall is the pick though, not really that hard to get there you drive past maccas and you'll see a left near the paintball park... Like 15 minutes extra. And when the south easterly is blowing and theres too much swell the bat is your only options! Hope this helps mate

Sounds good mate, best tip i can give you is anytime you know theres swell and you've got time, get down to iluka as much as possible... I cant even explain how good ive had that while my mates booged average north wall

haha yeh i've already cottoned on to that one buddy. got some bitchin waves at iluka over winter with only about 4 other dudes out. probably make a few more trips down when the swells start coming again. from what i've seen this past year North Wall is hardly ever working and when it is, there's a million dudes out.

have you booged good trestles yet? I've gotten that place absolutely firing with maximum 2 other dudes out.
