BACKWASH

Postby NtripleB » Tue Sep 28, 2010 6:57 pm

why does it occur?
im not talking about sell rebounding off a rock like froggies or any of those wedges
but on a beachie why does it sometimes come back out and effect the wave/surface of the wave and sometimes it doesnt?

i was thinking it may be because the water doesnt have a channel to flow through or that the beach is on an upwards slope? :?: :?
everything happens for a reason.. we just dont realise it at the time

good luck with that, i think that backwash like that is just as fun, mainly cause its nice 2ft wedges onto less than 2ft of sand

The proper term is called a reflective beach, ie the steeper the sand on the shore the more water reflecting back out to sea.

Sometimes its good when it hits just after the wave has pitched and its makes the wave twice as wide as it should be, i like that :D but i too hate it when you go to hit a lip and it disappears

its happening more then usual now because of sand pumping from the river mouth into burleigh, creates a good shorey adventully with the extra sand though :D

Ive taken off on a wave, it jacked on the sand bar whilst the backwash pushed me up the wave then i airdropped into the pit for a few seconds before it closed and pumped me. sick fun
