dad is currently at photo continental purchasing my 30D and card, they had the body only in stock so thats $100 i dont have to give mum and dad for the 50mm lens (didn't need it, but the website said that the body only wasn't in stock) so that means i can get a faster (and bigger) CF card sooner, maybe even a pelican case or backpack (leaning towards the case for trips of the coast, extra protection and i already have a 'crumpler' bag (5 million $ home)

yeah, i think so, espicially because it seems most aquatechs are around the 2k+ mark, so your effectively getting the 50D for $500 (US i think)

Don't forget thats US dollars, plus you gotta pay taxes and customs unless they mark it as a gift

If your looking for a complete setup shoot me a pm - I got a 30d, Aquatech housing and bag, pistol grip, flat port, lowepro slingshot bag and a couple of lenses (not sure which ones yet) that im looking to offload in the next few months as a package
Always remember that you are unique....... Just like everyone else

Also be aware when buying aquatech...
the price you see generally does not include....
    Pistol grip
    Port

I could not shoot with out a pistol grip.. well I could, as I have done for the last couple of months.. but it is friggin annoying...

You have to know what questions to ask when buying a setup like the ones in the link...
for example....
Does the package include a lens? if so... which one??? This is kinda an important question btw....
Does the package include a port to suit the lens???
Does the package come with a pistol grip??? Cos there aint one in the pics...
Which controls are on the rear of the housing???

With out knowing the answer to any of these questions and having looked at the link for about 15 seconds... I would guess that there is no lens.. no port... and no pistol grip... so your "reasonable price" is about to blow out by about 1500 bucks..... at least....

Very helpful surfphotos, ive imagined how hard it would be shooting with a side handle.

Great points there, when i decide/ have the money to get a housing I'll most likely just buy a second hand one (preferably SPL haven't heard anything bad) because then it already has a lot of extras (i.e. pistol grip, port, shutter and aperture), there seem to be a few going around for the 30D (which is one of the reasons i went with that) and most seem to have a tonika 17-28 (from memory) but this seem to be compatible with a canon 50mm ($130) and some with a 70-200 port.

doesnt look that fisheyed cap.

What would be a step up from canon 75-300 which would be good for surf photography, or should i just invest 400 on a 2x teleconverter
