Hello hello hello everyone...I thought I would pop in to see how everything is going and wow..to my surprise I found not a small can of worms have been opened but rather....a large one.

Thankyou for your compliments re :Sam`s riding... his style etc. I didnt at any time however take anything to heart as such.
To be honest with you though I did feel offeneded that you were wanting to aquire the meausements of Sam`s boards to use on another companies board. That is very uncool and frankly, disrespectful towards not only Sam but also to Pride. I am sure that if you sit down and think about it....
An example....Tom Rigby riding his own Science board but giving the meaurements of the board to a mate to use on a Turbo board. I hope you can understand that.

I dont know you so therefore I do not know how important the correct board meaurements would be to you. Its slightly different if you compete as oppossed to free surfing in that having the correct meaurements is vitual to your success. Do you mean the following meaurements are what you are after ?

Nose Width....Nose To Wide Point.....Wide Point.....Tail Width....Nose Kick....Tail Kick....Rail Configuration...
Bottom Design.

If you have been riding for a while these things are what I would think you would already know. I know these are what Sam
takes into consideration. I am afraid that is all that I and I would presume Pride would be willing to tell you. I already know what Sam would say.....
Bodyboards are as individual as the riders are. Perhaps you could speak to Todd Quigly and tell him what it is you are after exactly. He the man for QCD boards and a helpful guy at that.
Good luck with it all.

I dont think Pride wouldnt want to give out dimensions. A few years ago in the riptide board guides they would have every board and all those measurements you referred to (Nose width etc.) but then this year it stopped, Aaron (old riptide slave) said it was due to some companies just not getting back to them. I guess this might be why, but i doubt it. I mean nothing is stopping someone from going into a store with a ruler and measuring a board...

I mean if i were to spend big $$$ on a board, id like to know its the right size for me, not just buy it because of who's name is on it.

He didnt mention anything about his colour selection or anything. All he said is he wants the dimensions for a custom because he doesn't like pride for what ever reason, maybe he wants the dimensions because he thinks that Sam is a gun rider and trust the size he rides will go well. FFS compare that to 90% of the utterly kook riddled shit that appears on the forum, why the f@k are people attacking him so much?

He didnt say he wants to match with anything. That was something doc made up to try pay him out. All he did was use an example to back up what he is saying, that is that he wants a board fine tuned exactly how he wants it. He is the paying customer, why attack that?

Funny the same people attacked me when i asked why people have a top of the line board, getting very defensive about it all...

contour looks so sick.

why not just buy his stock board?

Don't like the colours.
And I want the quality of a QCD you rarely get with stock boards.

Maybe you should read the posts conjob.

hmm, well that seems pretty dumb since there wouldnt be only one colour available.

But still compare that to alot of other posts on here...

I don't think im better than you...You have voiced your opinion and im simply voicing mine. I just think that ripping off someones specs that you have never ridden purely for the colours is not cool.
Peace

It's not that it's going to make me ride any better.
In my opinion people with rad set-ups are alot easier on the eye.
An example in a back to front sort of way would be Jake Stone's section in Thrash.
Jake is effing ripping. No complaints on anything but those red wetsuits he wears.
I just think his section could come across even better if he had some refined set-ups.

At the moment i'm riding a cross between Mitch Rawlins, Mitch Rawlins LTD & T.Robinson specs. (40 7/8)
I like the narrow shape with Thom's board - my reverses are starting to have more speed and power.
I'm so super stoked and super psyched. It's a good feeling when you notice your riding improving.

My older board is a cross between Mitch Rawlins and B.P specs (42).
It rides really smooth but it's a bit big. Harder to manoeuvre and throw around.
Still love the board. And it's in tight shape aswell. It seems to go heaps better in bigger surf.
I got this board because M.R and B.P are the shit and it was alright to start getting my shit down on.
My newer board is smaller and i'm hoping to take my surfing to the next level through it.

Mitch, not the slightest bit concerned about how people see me.
I'm not getting a QCD for the image i have one small stamp you can barely see.
I just love the quality of them. Second to none.

Thanks for actually speaking to me this time.
It goes a long way.

I'll most likely tell you my colour combos and whatnot down the line,
When i'm not in a position of constant scrutiny.

For this I may be crucified but I couldn't care less :) ..

I plan the colours of my boards-wetsuit-fins before I get the board.
I really just love doing it. It's me.

Already got my next board colours planned.
I'm not exactly overly fussed with not getting Sam's measurements.
It was a request. It didn't have to be answered.

I'm sure i'll find some measurements i'll be stoked on.

i can see where you're coming from buddy. i understand what you mean but is it really that much difference?
besides, if you bought sam bennett's pride model instead of taking the measurements and buying a QCD board which would be more or less exactly the same as a pride (maybe different colours etc) you would be supporting sam.
do you see how that's relevant? just support riders who need/want support.
picture yourself in sam's position. you'd probably feel a bit ripped off if this kind of sh*t happened.
can you dig it

I understand what your saying, you are echoing other peoples opinions.
But if i'm forking out that kind of moolah I want it to be exactly how I want it down to the millimetre.

Honestly if a kid wanted to ride my personal specs I would be pretty chuffed even if he wasn't riding the brand which i'm sponsered by.

Contrary to alot of people in this world, money isn't my motive for anything.
How Sam feels about this is possibly entirely different but i'm not here to please anyone. Just doing my own thing.

Enough rambling. Ha.
