JJJ Hottest 100 Of All Time

A home to all things pop culture that don't necessarily relate to bodyboarding but are still worth raving about.

but they are not meant to be the greatest of all time, they are the favorites of all time, they said this during the countdown.

We sure could. Please post up your list first

Blink 182
Hilltop Hoods
Kings of Leon
The Verve
Muse
Pearl Jam
Micheal Jackson
Crowded House
System of a Down
Ben Folds Five

*shudders*

you seem to have a real problem with other peoples choice in music dude. It was a national vote and if people voted for them doesn't that mean they are pretty popular? The hottest 100 didn't turn out how you liked man so what.

What was your top 10 by the way?

I never voted ... i said earlier on somewhere on this forum its impossible to pick them cause far to many worthy songs would miss out... (which i guess is also why i thought the list was pretty lame). Ill give it a go...

Public Enemy - Fight the power
Dead Kennedys - California Uber Alles
Tool - 46 and 2
Daft Punk - Digital Love
Television - Marquee Moon
Black Mountain - Tyrants
Kraftwerk - The Robots
The Who - Baba O'Riley
Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade
Bob Dylan - Mr. Tambourine Man

Plus a f@k load that missed out. Impossible to do 10 imo and pretty amazing how people managed to fit the likes of some of the songs on there into that 10...

 blink 182 were a shitty emotional pop band. i'm glad they disbanded, the world became a bit better in general with them gone imo
i dont think nirvana should have been no.1, i really respect kurt cobain and love his music but f**k, it was just power chords!
love will tear us apart deserved the number 1 spot more than them
one by metallica shoudlve been higher, creep by radiohead shouldve been higher, bohemian rapsody by queen shouldve been higher, comfortably numb by pink floyd shouldve been higher.
and bugger me senseless if i know how rage against the machine got 2nd. they are one of my favourite bands but are they actually better than JOHN LENNON?
ahhhhh glad i've got all that off my chest

To be fair, I don't agree with the whole list, but I have to say it's a pretty good playlist. I've got it all sorted in order on my iPhone :D
RIP my Science 1 board. You will be in my thoughts daily!

I think you missed the point. Votes were cast on what people liked the most, not necessarily what songs / bands are better. At the end of the day it all came down to separate individuals perception which gained a majority vote overall. You have to keep in mind that what you like isn't going to be the same as the next person.

Do the competition 10x over and each time it will yield different results. RATM is far more popular for a younger generation than John Lennon and the results showed this.

Am pretty sure this will be "Worst list of All Time". Shame the voting's closed, but then again the nominees would probably make me angry.

I wonder what brutally gay song will be at the top?

yeah that's my guess. (countdown could've already happened? I don't know if it has)

If Nirvana wins, it's more proof that the average person on the street is really stupid. I guess that's been well known for a fair while, though.

edit: dammit, it did happen. And Nirvana actually won? I would say "it's a sad day" but I don't listen to JJJ at all anyway; I guess it could be worse.
