in front of the wave???

a couple of times i drop in i seem to go to far in front of the wave then i dont have much speed then i get droped by the wave crashin on top of me
what am i doin and how do i provent that from happenin?

try taking off not aiming straight for the beach, but on a bit of an angle. either left or right depending which way the wave is going. from there just decide which line to take according to what the wave is doing.

Watch lots of body boarding video's and watch how they draw lines and do bottom turns. Getting as much speed as possible from dropping in isn't allways the best way to ride a wave, stalling using your legs and distributing your body weight onto different parts of the board will help you you gain momentom from the wave and actually ride it.

is that 'how to' dvd any good? seen it around, looks alrite. also in the videos above does anyone here do spins like the guy in the vids, sticking your knees into the board, its seems to work but it looks weird.

its like having your hands in the normal position with and arch in your back and on your knees with your shins out of the water, its hard to explain, please just watch the video

The European riders are the only people ive seen do these type of spins, and i cant think of any benefit of it, as most of the time their knees are in the water, which might even make the spin slower. All a matter of style really

all i have ever done, is shift my weight forward a little, turn either into or down the face, and arch/lift my legs out of the water, and around i'd go.
