if your talking about exposure you cant rate alex jackson or liam okeefe in there, the guys shred but iv (sadly) never seen them in a magazine, mason however had a profiule in the last bodyboarder mag, and some hectic rocky point airtime in hawaii at the start of the year, plus his bboy and surfing trip through europe

Im yet to see any evidence to see why half those riders are better than winny. Never seen a shot or video of them apart from on this forum...

My opinion is that Kim feast should be alot higher up the list.
This is due to the fact that kim released the best dk clip that has ever been on the net and he also won the 2nd leg of the dk sessions comp.
Apart from all of this he has just been surfing very well this year, both technically and in bigger surf.

oh man... i think this debates been thrashed enough in previous threads. some of the polls in the past have been so far off the mark its not even funny... i am tipping my hat to those on the list who are there deservedly for their efforts in 2009 especially the less established guys who have worked hard to be there.

despite the obvious accolades for most top ten
-mason had a massive year in hawaii media wise in the 08/09 season and hes in every other mag in an add, running dk events etc even with injury
-Leroy has some amazing coverage from 08/09 hawaii just not in mainstream oz bb media, thus my call on more exposure for him...
-dubb is world champ and sharp is dks forster champ!?

it seems others are there still for pre 09 efforts/ nostalgia still which seems to be unavoidable. a 'best of all time' and 'best up and comer' dk poll would be bloody fantastic and clear the airways a bit for the annual poll but fat chance of getting that much dk airtime with any mag.

sure its not a pure -09 without any reverence to the past- dk poll, whatever, good on the lads breaking through into a poll that for many reasons is hard to get a look in.

I reckon thats a great way to free it up a bit....its really hard to forget the guys that have paved the way for dk but are still killing it! they shouldnt be forgotten but i think it would benifit those who are doing so much for dk but arent entirely in the limelight so to speak. thats what is so refreshing seeing sharp / feast / pope in the mix for all the hard work there putting in....it's not going unoticed.

f@k just a good lil dedicated section of a mag each issue would be great for dk -but! get someone who dk's to do the editorial / news side of things....i vote Grant Maloney doing something with a mag - he always has some great genuine comments on the riders and obviously a well known guy with a huge passion of the stance...rips too which doesnt hurt one bit!

flogging a dead horse but it would be cool to see something done in the future mag wise for dk

Why dont some DKers make their own mag? Even an online one? Take matters into your own hands?

Also what has Aka done in the last year?

man we have 2 mags here in oz and like chabbott said all we need is for one of them to drop their balls and dedicate 2-4 pages for DK. Sure we could have a whole mag full for sure BUT why not start here and see where it leads us? Shit most people do half the work for the mags as it is,(sending in their pics and stories) so it wont hurt for them to put a few pages aside. The issue is, and always will be, is that they only want the most popular dk guys in there, end of story. If you dont look cool or do a roach-type snap, then you got no chance.

Why dont you go all Brendon Newton on them?

I like DK and enjoy the stuff on here, but when it comes to mags what ever one it is, if its related to DK is always seems so bland and boring (although bodyboarder has had some decent articles over the years, but i havnt touched that mag in ages). Which wont sell.

I dont see why guys wouldnt start taking things into their own hands. A frequently updated blog, a bi monthly online mag, something along those lines. Surely not to hard to do.

Alex is a freak, he surfs really good despite his age, he's starting to bulk up and is surfing will only improve.
I'm sure we will be seeing him in the mags soon...

feast and pope were dominating that 71 mag too.. SO F%CKING GOOD

i ask myself that all the time, there would be so many people that would love to help too, i guess someone needs to take a gamble and use some solid coin.
