Still seeing them >>> seeing the majority of punk bands (that i know of) today.

Cant blame them though, obviously feeling the age and i dont think a mellow 50 yr old HR going wild would have the same effect as it would have when he was a pissed off 20 yr old. Still that crowd looks fun.

I might go just to say I've seen them, but really, it's like Weekend at Bernies!

Definitely one of the factors. Who needs ACDC when you can see the Bad Brains 8)

Well it's fairly accurate. I've listened to them and admired them for a long time and i'd like to add seeing them to my list of experiences, irrespective of their current quality.

I can see how you've interpreted it, but I meant for my own benfit. I'm not some scencester looking to up my street cred...

Is there something wrong with that? Im not into them as much as i was a few years ago but i f@king loved them. Certainly a band id like to tick off regardless of quality at the moment. If someone gave my tickets to watch Johnny Rotten throw his irrelevant old ass around a stage id snatch them up instantly because its Johnny f##ken Rotten...

Went to The Arthouse in Melbourne last night.
Image

Awesome venue for Hardcore/Punk shows as the stage is quite low.
Frozen Over started things off with there raw punk sound, young band that went real hard.
Warbrain came on next and set it off with some sick breakdowns and fast sections, with a few stage dives getting thrown down. They where very impressive to watch...
Samsara on next (i've seen these boys before, and they go bloody hard) they where nuts as expected...
Blkout came on (first time I've seen em live) and killed it. Singer dived off the stage to start things off. They where awesome to watch, I also brought there Total Depravity LP at the merch table, which I've been hanging to get.

Mad night...

@ Comptee: Did you see Blkout when they came up?

When is this? They stopped playing again a couple years ago, are they back gigging? I saw them at the Grammercy Theatre in NYC in 2007 and it was sick. Deniz Tek and Rob Younger are oz royalty (even if Deniz is a Seppo, Ill claim him) but Chris Masuiak (sp?) had a cowboy hat and snakeskin boots on looking like that gronk from U2!

Bad Brains will be terrible but Im still gonna go just to skank to 'Right Brigade'

Re: Bad Brains

It's all academic anyway.

http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/23265/Bad-Brains-tour-cancelled.htm wrote:The classic lineup of Bad Brains was booked to play several upcoming Australian shows, but have issued a statement cancelling the planned tour.

The statement reads in full:

“Regretfully Bad Brains are forced to cancel the June Australian dates due to personal health issues that don’t allow the stresses of the travel involved at this time.

We hope to rebook the tour before the end of the year or early 2011.
This is a disappointment for us and we know a great disappointment for our Australian fans.

We are very sorry and will do all we can to make it up to them.
All praises unto the almighty.”
