well if you want a cheap one you can get a cannon 75-300 for under $200, i take all mine with a 90-300 which is a fairly similar lens in terms of price and image quality (i think)

its a bit better but the lighting in the original photo on the wave face isnt very good so its hard to edit.
anywho, ordered my opteka 0.35x fisheye addon this time last week and recieved it yesterday.
you shoulda seen how excited i was aha. i ordered a 52-58 convertor to make it fit (it is 52mm) but it turns out i ordered it the wrong way, i needed a 58-52.
BUT, with the lens came a convertor anyway, so it was alllll good.
when i can get around to it in between physics, maths b, maths c, english and ITS assignments  ill chuck up some o de photoz

what is the 70-200mm f4 like, applying for a job soon (as in later tonight) and a new lens is up there (if i get it) so what the picture like, should i also get a 1.4x TC? also how cheap would i be able to get a 30D housing? have seen the liquid eye ones but would want something with some basic controls (just aperture and shutter)

Whats your budget? photozone.de (independent and imo very reliable review site) creamed themselves over it. So from that i would confidently say you wont be let down by it.

hey cap, yeh the 70-200 is an awesome lens, one of my first purchases and probably my favourite. So sharp and light and fast in comparison to the lens your using, and decently priced for what you get. Loads of pro photogs used to shoot with the 2.8 version but 'downgraded' to the f4 version (usually IS - which is the newer model with newer optics) because of its sharpness and mobility. You wont regret buying it. As for a 1.4 TC, i wouldnt really bother for now, keep the 90-300 for if you ever feel you need that bit of extra length or get a 400mm later down the track. Housings go for anywhere from 600-1200 depending on make, controls, condition etc. My mate picked up an Aquatech EOS 3 housing for his 30d and just uses foam, and with pistol grip and fisheye and most controls, got it for 500, so keep a look out on ebay for housings of cameras with similar dimensions.

don't suppose your mat found it on gumtree? if so it was the one i was eying of, as for the 90-300 not really happy with the sharpness, want more ... so what would be the reason for not getting a TC. Housing is first on my list though and i figure if i upgrade to a 50D eventually then i can might still be able to use it
