Sopelana bbkpro 2010 is live streaming now. Waves look pretty terrible. http://is.gd/etXaH

On the plus side the IBA is so bad at marketing no one will even know about this embarrassment.

the bigger events like this get, the less crowded the breaks will get! Now if we can only get the ASP to hold events in similarly bad conditions and good times will happen.

If only those who oppose these events would step up and raise the cash to have events like the SIC on the tour!

I'm pretty sure noone involved with the IBA is loaded either...

But at any rate, I was just being facetious.

again though, while I enjoyd watching the SIC, the lamer the contests the less bodyboarders in the water, so really we should be encouraging this sort of stuff.

2011 Australian IBA event at City Beach in Perth, what do you guys reckon?

Id like to think i was being pretty positive. Casp to..

Another positive is all these shit events make the two good comps each year that much better to watch.

No dis to the riders, as they are subject to going out in what they're told - or the place, cos every break has its days - but at what point do conditions in an INTERNATIONAL Bodyboarding competition become defined as "non-contestable" :?: (we wouldn't run it at our local club in this btw) The word 'contestable' is seeming like more an excuse than a definition......

Final Sopelana BBK Pro 2010

and this is quick one is on the same vimeo page - made me laugh

Ironically the second one looks more fun......

so what youre saying is that some people bodyboard as long as there are competitions with good waves? and that someone in australia may quit bodyboarding because a event in spain had 1 ft waves? ehe the butterfly effect for boogie..

i agree doc and its up to iba to underrate these events thus promoting better venues, longer waiting periods. Riders or iba shoudnt boycott anything, there is allways a hard effort behind these events, generally made by bodyboarders, but they should reward heavily little improvements like a couple of days of extended period, or a spot that handles better swell.
