Hiding from Comfort - Riptide

No one has really said anything regarding the annoucement in the latest Riptide.

Personally, i'm f@king stoked and super psyched to see what level Mitch has taken his riding too.

There is a high chance the movie could go down as the greatest boogin vid too date.

For those that don't know, Mitch Rawlins' new movie will be on the front of the next Riptide.

This video looks to be insane. Cannot wait. Some of the footage and filming/editing techniques look pretty mind-blowing.
Rawlins is god. Luckily I renewed my Riptide subscription yesterday

Yes itll be stuck to the next issue of riptide, dunno why he didnt release it seperately, couple of reasons maybe,
Maybe the sales of riptide are more than the average sales of a booger flick so its a way of getting more copies sold.
perhaps its a way of to ensure people buy the real copy instead of just ripping it.
The financial benefit offered by riptide may have been substantial enough to make it worth while
or to the contrary he might not care about how much he makes and just want as many people to get stoked on it as he can

Ive no idea about any of that and all may be wrong, except the first sentence, just thinking out loud

Proabably as they paid him a lump sum which is easy than sending them to shops and waiting for the shops to sell them before Mitch gets paid. Same as the lackey project. Easier to distribute with the mag rather than sort out his own distribution.

You can speculate all you want about the deal, but could any of you pass up the opportunity to work with someone the creates art like the piece above?
The case was the same with The Lackey Project, these films are some of the best projects (not to mention the many great photography projects) happening in bodyboarding. The guys involved have so much passion and put an incredible amount of effort into their work, making it a freaking joy to work with them in any way.

The footage will be amazing there's no doubt, I'm just hoping that he doesn't overdose on the arty stuff, landscape shots and the like that were in the previews. His section in Grow Up was IMO quite beautiful and arty, and all that was needed to achieve it was a lush tune and the occaisonal bit of slo-mo. We don't need uluru and or moody forests! But yeah, I'm really psyched for this. The Viking, Hiding from Comfort AND Blow Up all in the next few months or so! It's gonna be rad.
