video games (ARE A BIT GAY)

A home to all things pop culture that don't necessarily relate to bodyboarding but are still worth raving about.

Thought I'd post this in here as it's more of a nerdier area.

Attended a party on the weekend and ended up crashing a mates house. Noble scored the couch I scored the floor with about 5 other people :( Noble also picked up so there was a girl snuggled up to him on the couch.

Anyway as everything started to go quiet Noble said possibly one of the most nerdiest things I've ever heard and being a geek myself was kind of shocked that no one else picked up on it.

Everything goes quiet then all I hear from the couch;

"Eight, Equal Sign, Equal Sign, Capital D"

I must have laughed for a good 10mins.

Finished this last night, really enjoy thriller/horror movies and this game plays exactly like one, so yeah, I thought it ruled haha.

Loved all the references to Max Payne (which was made by the same Finnish developers - Remedy), Twin Peaks, Twilight Zone, Evil Dead etc. As well as the subtle references to other writers the creators drew influence from for the character of Alan Wake (Stephen King, H.P Lovecraft etc)

It's going to work out too about 11TB with a disk redundant.

I have big plans for my house that's getting built. Upgrading my storage is the first thing I needed to do :)

Haha I like how 11TB is part of your house planning.

How good is being a tech head. Just recently got my lounge room so prime. Don't have to leave the couch for any form of entertainment. 15TB of movies/shows/porn over 4 computers all networked.

Cheers. I'll show you what I've got so far for my house;

TV

Couch

Changing the 7seater version so it's an 8 seater in this color;

Cabling

Networking

Storage (5 x 3tb drives)

Plus I already have one of these with 2 x 2tb drives in it.

I'm currently running a 24x7 laptop doing numerous tasks and a Mac Mini with runs the Plex PMS and Plex Client.
http://www.plexapp.com/

Definately not the best way to do things so I'm building up a server from my current gaming PC. Not 100% locked on the specs as I've got a little bit of time till my house is finished getting built but what I do know is it'll run on my Q6600 with 4gig 800 ddr of memory. That way I'll be able to share to multiple Plex clients and can shut down my laptop which is fried.

This leaves a gap for my Gaming PC but I'm not going to worry about that until I move in. I'm still yet to get my hands on a wireless access point and I'll also need a Apple TV to run the Plex Client on my 40" Sony Bravia that is going to remain in my bedroom.

I'm also considering a tablet so that I can move files and refresh the Plex PMS from the couch.

Ahhhh Geeking Out :)

Haha, loving it...

Picturing it looking like this on the outside:

But with this inside:

As Swoodle diverts the entire construction budget to tech fitouts.

That's some mint gear Swoodle, looks like you've got a pretty good idea of what you're doing.

Since i've been sick this week I've been geeking it up pretty hard and smashed out the first Bioshock and then Bioshock 2 in preparation of the awesome looking Bioschock: Infinite!

So many good games set to drop in the next 6 months, might be time to quit my job.
