Leashes...again.

Postby GoldCoastbooger » Mon Jul 25, 2011 8:22 pm

I need a new leash, basically my Creatures has carcked it on me. Id been using it for about a year and half so guess its a decent amount of time on the one leash.
Basically a want a leash thats strong and a good size as i have pretty big biceps  I was using the Hardy model which is a M fit.
What leash do yous think would be the go between POD and Creatures for Size and comfort?
Sorry for another Leash post but i couldnt get a simple answer in previous ones

Gyroll bicep, wind the band around the coil after every surf and it will last until the plastic corrodes from the sun.
Ive had mine for a year and a half and its like new seriously.

Ive heard they're a pretty small leash though and they tend to snap pretty quickly

nah man ive taken multiple solid 4ft waves on the head and it had no effect at all.
i tried a mates creatures the other day and i reckon its annoying having such a long coil.

yeah a gyroll and your set, you'd get away with the bicep size and mines a year and a half old as well and like new, coil has hardly stretched and you don't notice it on the wave

I have the same problem.
I've got a large Lackey bicep leash and its to small. I'm not some gym junkie. I'm just one of those overall large people (6'4, 100kg's)
Gunna make the switch to wrist leashes because i can't seem to find a bicep that fits properly.
Who knows good wrist leashes?

Creatures or bust. I've only ever snapped one of them and that was after almost 3 years of poor care and trashing the shit out of it.

Check http://www.riptidemag.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5214&p=89429 re Gyroll for some other opinions.

You may want to consider that the Gyroll bicep isn't really a 'large' fit (from memory - I haven't used one in the last 12 months, but I seem to remember it being a bit of a tight fit...)

Try the POD leashes if you want - biggest on the market for a while (red series used to be the largest, but you'll have to check) - be pretty damn surprised if one of those doesn't fit comfortably around your bicep. current series lasts well too

I ended up getting an NMD Winny Bull bicep. It isnt massive but it fits nicely. I havent heared anything negative about them. Just have to try it out now..

i dont understand how anyone can wear a gyroll in waves over 4ft. i had one a while back and in the end i just got fed up with it going straight whenever i copped one on the head. they rip your arm out of its socket as well.
