So true Doc. It's crazy how desensitised everyone has become.
I am absolutely amazed given the nature of the reef there that noone was seriously injured or killed though. This, I think, can be the scary part, as people push further and further and into heavier and heavier waves. Not just talking at the apex of surfing but all through the ranks. You hear of so many more broken backs etc than you ever used to. I think the availability of the imagery pushes people forward at a rate faster than they otherwise would have, and that can sometimes cause issues.
That said, for those with the skills, keep on pushing.
