Reunion Pro (Sept 30 - Oct 9)

The trials have been run and so the main event is now on the cards. Was supposed to run earlier today, but apparently it was too big and they couldn't launch ski's and boats out there. Pretty lame if you ask me. Big conditions and they can it to wait for it to be smaller!?

From the IBA:
The swell has jacked overnight with ten foot sets steamrolling their way through the line up. The boats and jet skis can not get out of the harbour meaning no safety because of this the port authorities say the contest is on hold for one hour. The next call will be at 8am local time.

The harbour is still closed. A final call will be made at 09h30 local time. By law there has to be a safety boat, a navy boat with scuba divers underwater monitoring the reef for sharks, and a jet ski in the line up at all times during the contest. Terry McKenna and Amaury Laverhne have given a safety briefing about protocol in the unlikely event of a shark sighting.

Anyway, looks like its going to be a sick contest. Hopefully the swell doesn't drop much more, that would suck.
Also, can anyone confirm if it's going to be webcasted? There's no information to support the fact whatsoever.

The NISSAN Reunion Pro. That's right playa. IBA getting corporate sponsorship for the first time in bodyboarding history.

Should be an awesome event.

Not sure what Rawlins is up to.
There's a fair few guys that didn't bother with Reunion this year at all which is a bit weird. That's why there are so many Reunion rider wildcards.

On another note. Webcast has been perfect all day up until about 2 minutes ago. It's fully cut out now. No video, and audio cuts out every few seconds...

Amaury - perfect air reverse

Perfect 10.

Nice.

Also, hows the scorecard? The webcast is running fine except it's 10 minutes behind the scoreboard. Weird.

Yea. Pulled it out of nowhere hey.

Did anyone just see Sam Bennet's interview...? Haha so funny. Shaggy was frothing Sam was just like whatever. His flip was so sick but, boosted high.

Sam Bennett, the winning flip.
I think Ben Player brought up a great point with bright slicks, definately would of helped here IMO.

Hahaha! Man that was classic. Was literally just about to post something about his interview. I loved Gregg Taylor's comment too about Manny being lost for words in regards to Reunion Island and having to 'get Sam Bennett' to describe it.
