Cash converter type stores and garage sales are probably worth checking. It's just luck of the draw with specific types but. Your best bet might be advertising on booger/surf forums....

I got a BZ Severson on ebay a few years back. Its in awesome condition too. Rode it once and did some mighty double hand cutbacks. Good times

Like pete said cash converters and even some garage sales you can pick up some vintage gold (although most of the time they will be salt encrusted and waterlogged )

Check out the XLR8 on ebay at the moment. See the other post on Rippy forum. The board is still in the original plastic wrap. Expensive though...

An honest question. I rode 8TX/Mach 7's back in the day. Seemed that those boards rode really really well. How would their performance compare to the modern 'tech' boards? Has board design really improved the performance of boards or just become more confusing?

great question!... I used to borrow a mates 8tx all the time and loved it, I thought it was sick and have fond memories of that board, I wish I could have a go of it these days and compare it to my Botha.

i honestly think that is the case too especially durability wise and projection but i still have fond memories of old boards I rode back in the early to mid nineties.
What I wish for is an online database of board measurements, especially old boards, so you could accurately recreate old boards templates but put a modern spin on them with stringers, core options etc.

That is a tight Idea old board templates with new materials, there is a guy who owns a site called vintage bodyboards. I want a wingnut but they won't ever make them again, that was what I really wanted when I was coming up all mad keen. Boards are better now but nostalgia has a place.

Here is a link to that cat over at vintage bodyboards. Hope you find your board man.

ha ha thanks man and I agree, nostalgia has a place and it is important to remember the history of the sport too, albiet young that it is.

The wingnut was a great board, I loved the nose piece which was pretty unique at the time, another mate of mine had one and I borrowed that board a few times too.

I would love to be able to recreate an old Ben Holland board I had (it had a nose piece, square tail and channels with the wizard on the slick) and some old Eppo boards..... and the old Bullet sig model from Morey too.

I hate to be the one to tell you man but morey is now whatm-o I've been talking to one of their board reps to get some info about their stuff. I'll check if they hold the old templates still.
