I disagree about Found boards blowing up. Found was being talked about when it was released and all the hype about him being seen with non Vs boards before the release but due to only being sold online (and through inverted) the average grom isnt interested and interest seems to have died out. It was a gamble and while its only early days, all the groms appear to have done is go for Joe Clarkes board.
Not being able to walk into a shop and see them is a massive disadvantage. There is not loads of people on here raving about how good the boards are.
A grom being able to take his money from his wkend job into a shop and putting a board on laybe and his parents not knowing he is spending $350 is completely different to having to ask your mum to put $439 on her card in one hit.
Ive been in Emerald numerous times where a grom comes in with his parents and wants the top of the range, current season NMD or VS and Des and Ross show them those boards, plus last seasons which are discounted, and other brands and all they want is the latest NMD/Vs. And the parents there understand what the guys are saying and push towards the cheaper ones.
Asking your mum to put $439 on her card is a big ask when she knows she can get you one she sees as the same for $300 from a shop.
Im not knocking Found, I like the visual look of the boards myself. Just think that Mitch might have gambled too much on that his Vs boards flew out the door but didnt research why.

I dont know what your on about ?
Found is a new company, give it time to get in the shops. The boards look sick. If a grom is getting a board ..then he is getting a board who cares wether its on mums card or his pocket money.
When hardy and rawlins surfed for 4play, heaps had a 4play then they moved to VS and heaps got a VS.
I just dont understand what your getting at ?
and for quality...if im buying a ten dollar wallet i want quality ...if im buying a 400 dollar board bet ya bottom dollar im looking for the highest quality as any grom/adult would want.
If no-one ventured into buying new things we would all still be booging on a old Morey :D
Give it time and youll see them in the water below everyones stomach.

Groms these days, dont care where there board comes from. Simple. As long as a board looks good, and the pros are riding it, Groms will be all over it. Rawlins's strongest selling point i reckon is that it's his company. I had a look at a found at Inverted couple of weeks ago, and they felt great. But when i was looking at all the boards, i didnt think where each board was manufactured. Its all about the Colours and look. I wish Rawlins the best of luck.
Straddie is where its at ;)

Yeh once they get into shops and a few young groms snap them up they will sell like hotcakes.

Im actually just having a discussion. Im not bagging out Found boards.. im just talking about it.
But I reckon if a grom is getting a board.. and his parents are paying for it I reckon THEY care about how much it costs, especially if in their eyes there is one that looks the same but is cheaper.
And again ...linking to the conversation about bodyboard company websites and the ones that sell direct as well as in shops.. there appears to have been abit of a backlash from the shops and they aren't stocking stuff from companies that sell direct to the public and under cut the shops.

There's no doubt (in my mind anyway) that Rawlins is going for a slightly older demographic than the groms. The ads, the logos and yes, the price.

ugh, he's not under cutting the shops, ffs. The shops have no right as such to his or any other board brands. Selling direct is not unethical, it's not a bad thing, but the complete opposite.

So its 13 months since the last post on this discussion. Thought I'd resurrect it as I walked past a Surf Dive Ski today and they were advertising they stock Found bodyboards. Went in and all they have is just piles of cheap entry level Found boards.
I still have only seen 1 person riding one.

It's funny, I copped a found board a couple months ago from inverted goldy, when I went into the shop I said exactly, I need a new board, 50/50, PP, and local. A few came out but ended up deciding on the rawlins joint, when I saw the 430 buck price tag I was a bit taken back at first but I got exactly what I wanted, and am satisfied with being able to rock something that not only shreds (smashing this christmas swell) but was made with my surf in mind here in a local joint by a local booger. This gave me piece of mind because I know that if it falls apart in two months I'll be able to track rawlins down and get revenge hahah but seriously, surely I'm not the only person on the earth willing to shell out extra for local handmade product?

Also this colorway was wayyyy fuckin nicer than anything else I've seen, there are some fuckin atrocious sleds floating around out there eh.
How do you do?
