haha - bad case of boogitus swoodle? Highly infectious illness linked to decent surf conditions. Enjoy rest of jan savage -as of feb you'll be joining the weekend warriors - coin will be good though - can save up for OS trips, new gear etc etc. Harsh reality for me is that even if i didn't work I wouldn't be able to surf much more than I do now. Last roadie in nov with my old mateys we were the walking wounded after a couple of days - one bung shoulder, a crook neck and two stiff backs. Still hoping for a wave early sunday - hopefully not too much south in the wind or wind not real strong.

Hmmmm. I think it might be looking like a pond on Tuesday with that Hell offshore wind predicted. I'm only taking 1 day off, so I'll let you know if I change it to tuesday.

torquay pt was surprisingly good fun this am - onshore wind & lumpy but some fun rights nonetheless - seems like can be a reasonable option if onshore winds aren't too strong

Yeah I usually surf Zoomo's (which is basically between the middle of Torquay point and Draino's) because its relatively protected from the SW/W winds.
I only ever go out when it's too big and messy for anywhere else and I'm desperate. I've gotten some super fun waves on a good day there. Sometimes you even get the odd cover up or fun ramp.

But my god the shmends you get out there! Sometimes I play the old 'kook speed-bump' game 8)

PS - Swoodle, work ended up having to put me on from 7-10am shift Tuesday morning so can't surf either days. Damn sale setups.

have had some great 'race tracks' lets at zoomos - when its on its a really good fast beachie - but high tide only and sometimes can be a frustrating close out?? Definitely gotta be in dodge longboarder mode at torquay back beach though - have nearly been mown down few times.

I'm not sure i know where drainos is - is that the break heading east from zoomos - so basically next break along from zoomos?

Yes, yes I did. It was sick!

2 surfs, the high early (5:15am paddle out) and a 2:10pm paddle out. So many fun little tubes coming through. Especially in the arvo sesh. Doubt there would be anything today. The N winds were drilling it yesterday which made it SUPER clean but was killing the swell size.

Hay guys, I hit up Bancoora around lunch yesterday. Super clean mid size, no one there, what a country! Have hit Torquey heaps the last few weeks it's been really good down this way. 9/10 times I'm the only bodyboarder there, whats with that Vic we seem to be a rare breed, and given I only ride DK have not yet seen a compadre out west!

:?

I live in Torquay, and the surf coast has been pretty shocking the last month. Wait until winter mate, you'll be frothing.
I have had a couple of fun days out at Bancoora, generally it's pretty average though.

Too right about the lid ratio down here. You get a few out at Bird Rock and Beacon, but apart from that we are pretty much a dying breed (compared to the stand-up's anyway).

It looked pretty damm good on the cams and surf reports - where did you go??

I don't think i've been to bancoora jetzboy - is that a reef break or a beachie ? Sounds like a fun session anyway.

See a few lids out at gunnamatta, bird rock - mostly stand ups at beacon though.

ANother topic - have you guys had a go at msacs flowrider in melb city? I was thinking about giving it a go & wondered if anyone had tried it out on a lid.

There's flow rider in Melbourne? What the !? Savage, very keen for some good waves. Being a kiwi from the south big winter storm swells with a windchill factor of -5 doesn't scare me, might need a tougher wettie though. What's the best break around torquey? I try and go anytime it's good work permitting.

I had no idea there was a flowrider in Melbs? That's sick. Definitely gonna give it a crack sometime soon.

Yeah jetz - for sure. I'm always keen for waves and have pretty much most of the west coast dialed, so hit us up next time your down.
Bird rock is good at any size really, even when its almost flat you can pull into little barrels, just as long as its offshore. Watch the locals though. 99% of the time I have no problems, but every now and then you get an absolute cockhead surfer out there causing grief, even if your a local. Easily one of the funnest boog waves around here though. Just gets so crowded. Bancoora is between Posso's and 13th. It's a right-hand point and then just a beachie.
