Who's going down on Friday? I'm keen but I think the fitness will let me down, better hit the treadmill.

i was thinking 'suicides' at pt leo might be an option sat but maybe crowds a problem & i don't know what size it holds or how much swell will wrap into the bay. Your right chops - i should prob branch out & find a reef at flinders for something different. Fishos maybe not a bad option either savage but i think the crowds will be insane - bells (gulp) - i'd like to give it a go on a smaller average day - not paddle out for the first time ever in a serious sizey swell.

If you guys go out in sizey spots i want to hear about it - best wave and - the inevitable best wipeout too - haha!

Back home from 'big saturday' - started at torquay pt - hard work - walked around to fishos. Afterwards drove to bells & watched from lookout - sizey

i don't think i've ever surfed 2nd reef chops - though i get the names of the reef breaks there confused sometimes. I almost made the call to go pt leo instead of torquay direction today - but in the end i wanted to check out bells on the way home. i didn't handle conditions at torquay pt that well - kept getting swept sideways into close out zone in middle of the bay - so pulled the pin & walked to fishos which was small but fun. new camera - bit snap happy - haha

Yeah i am not really a huge fan of 2nd reef its not in my top waves to surf don't really know why should have moved over to honeysuckles but didn't regret that one ended up taking on the 2nd reef shorey which took me back to my youth when we would surf it flat out ahh the memory's you side of town looked like it was pumping all over the surf media last night and today!

Dad surfed Winki and said it was actually not that great. Solid 6-8ft, plenty of swell, but just fat and not really hitting it properly. Said Bells was the same.
Haven't surfed in over a week. Will be definitely hitting the ocean this week. Tuesday/Wednesday looks fun.

there were only 3 or 4 guys on winki on sat when I was watching - was one of them your old man savage?? Winki wasn't really working that cleanly when I was watching sat - crew seemed to be having fun on bells though - fullish but heaps of size. Sat Winki still made wave of the day though - pic from swellnet:

Got really fun waves this morning.
Knew it was gonna be onshore but it was so light (only like 4knots) so me and a mate checked Rock lookout.
Surfed Sparrows and it was really fun. Semi-clean, not perfect but a good 3ft on the sets. Real wedgy and steep take-offs. Got 2 really good barrels aswell.
After a while paddled over to the rock but it was terrible. Just wasn't hitting it at all. Paddled back over to Sparrows and got some more fun ones as the tide drained out further.

If it was offshore would have been pumping. The two barrels I got were so worth it though. All in all a good surf.
