Various hell-cats from the Toys Bodyboard Team recently landed on the Gold Coast bent on wave destruction and fun times. Flying in from the U.S. was Toys big boss-man Will George and DK legend Raffi Meyer. Cronulla lads Sam Strachan and Alex Leon then flew in from the Cook Islands and WA respectively to join them and Goldie DK man Dylan Lee only had to roll out of bed to be a part of the mayhem.
This unruly lot came together for the next Riptide Road Trip with Toys. As you scan through the pages contained here you'll find character descriptions of each respective member of the Toys team written by Mr W. George, razing photo galleries and vicious video - all for you.
To begin, let's meet Sam Strachan and Alex Leon (plus some Toys Tour shenanigans).

Raffi Meyer
- Go fish -
"I really don't know what to say about Raffi, 'cause I have too much to say about Raffi.
"He's like a brother to me and one of my best friends. Put Raffi and I together and we're the real life Bo and Luke Duke from the Dukes Of Hazzard. My Dad has even said that he'd trade me in for Raffi if he could, and he's said that more than once!
"Raffi's a bass-fishing-machine! He has a inner-tube type thing that he puts his legs in and floats in the water, fishing all day long. Lake, river or pond, it doesn't matter, if there's bass in it Raffi will be in it! Usually accompanying him is cooler full of beer and a dip-in (tobacco) big enough to take down a baby rhino - it's all that Raffi needs. I've know Raffi to fish for over 12 hours straight, never leaving the water.
"A hot stop for us to fish for bass is in the local golf courses. Only issue is that they're off limits and filled with old dickhead golfers. We've had golfers tell us to get the hell off the course, only to have Raffi threaten to beat the shit out of them with their own golf clubs. They usually shut up after that! The funniest incident was when one golfing knob said, 'Hey, didn't you guys see the no trespassing sign?' Raffi replied with 'Oh you mean the one on the fence? The one that we cut a hole in to get in here? Yeah, we saw it. Now beat it!'
"Being in OZ with Raffi was the best thing ever! Scoring waves with one of my best friends on the other side of the world was fucking amazing! Raffi, the bass at our pond are hitting, let's do this!" - Will George.

Dylan Lee
- Highway to hell -
"I first met Dylan when he was 16-years-old. At the time he'd only been bodyboarding for a short while after giving up stand-up surfing, where he'd been winning contests and had a bright future. At first I though that's rad, but who the hell does that? After spending time with Dylan I discovered that he was way too bad-ass and had way too much personality to be a pro surfer. He's hell on land and in water. People like Dylan and Sam there what bodyboarding needs. Bad-ass kids who kill it and live life like a Motley Crue video!
"If Axl Rose and Slash loved up Joan Jett backstage at a Metallica concert, that'd where Dylan came from! Denim, leather, Xbox, mullet fishing, that shit wine that comes in a box, hooking up with 18-year-old girls, hell and metal. These are the things that come to mind when I think of Dylan. Dylan doesn't give a shit and I love it! He got hammered and had his friend give him home-made prison tattoos. Another time he went blind in one eye for 12 hours after drinking moonshine. Dylan once got picked up by a 30-year-old chick outside of a bar 'cause she liked his hair.

Will was the man that had to hold all the madness together. Working hard to coordinate the Toys team to get from wherever in the world they may be to the Gold Coast - and get waves. Thankfully, the waves came and the beaches of the GC delivered incredibly fun wedges the whole time the Toys team were there and the rest took care of itself. It was rare to see Will without a tallie of beer in his hand as the sun went down, relishing in his time in Australia.
