"Hawaii means a lot to me. I cannot deny the fact that if I am at the level that I am today, it's because of my long stays in Hawaii. I used to spend many months there surfing everyday, in every type of conditions.
I did my first Hawaiian trip when I was 13-years-old with French pro bodyboarders Nicolas Capdeville and Cedric Dufaure. It was such a crazy experience, I could not beleive how big the waves were and how good the pros were surfing. I remember one day in particular, the swell was very big and messy; I didn't go for a surf and I decided to film. It was the first time I was seeing all my idols surfing together in challenging conditions like this. I remember when I start filming seeing Ryan Hardy do the biggest air reverse I ever seen(cover of Movement #1). I remember also Sean Virtue hitting the heaviest sections, Tamega surfing nuts, Jono Bruce being so stylish in his surfing…" - Pierre.
Pierre continues discussing the importance of Hawaii to his career and his memories from the island at pierrelouiscostes.com.
