Fruitful Lay-days in Reunion

The organisers of the Reunion Pro were forced to call off the event on Saturday as the large swell that was pounding the nearby harbour was blocking the Navy shark protection boat from making it to the event location - Les Archers. As soon as the call was made the various car loads of riders departed to breaks further north to make the most of the swell. As the Australian's put on "how-to-link-moves" clinic at the long, reeling lefts of St Leu (Hardy timed one of his waves at about a minute and a half!), a second group of riders that included Amaury, Mike, Jeff, Dubb, PLC and Charly set about launching off the bowls of "****", another reef just two minutes down the road. This is a clip of that session.

Today (Tuesday) was the second lay-day of the event and, as the wind was light, the organisers decided to run a DK event. Damian King was victor, beating Amaury, Sacha "Spex" Specker and local Yves Delapelin in the final. Ryan Hardy was unfortunately bundled out in the semi final, as was Dave Hubbard. Kingy had only got an entry into the event after taking Dave Winchesters spot. Winny takes a cool 25% of the Kingy's winnings, which isn't too shabby for a quiet lay-day.

Enjoy!

if you dont want "foreign" surfers to ride your spots i suggest you dont post videos online its a sure fire way to get the people coming. You showed all the landmarks in your clip so any surfer with half a brain & google earth will find it in no time. Its an ok wave but i dont think id fly halfway round the world to ride it St Leu & other spots look alot better.

Thanks for posting it. But please, i made this video, the riders don't want to people know where it was shot. They don't want foreign surfers to come in this spot, so please delete this part of the text. thanks guys
