interVIEW

Monday 29th of October 2012
A new movie with a years worth of footage shot all over the globe.

interVIEW has taken over a year and I've been to some of the best places in the world. With any film music is key, so i will be spending alot of time on finding tracks and making sure they fit the style of the film. - Sam Werkmeister

We caught up with Sam to get some info on his flick.

Are you the only filmer?
Yeah I am the only camera man.  I received a few shots off Conor Hegyi, from Wollongong, he has been filming Shane Ackerman for a while now and is happy to part with some clips.

What gear are you using?
I use a Canon 7D, an SPL Housing and loads of different little bits. The new DSLR cameras are great, the size is a real benefit when travelling around the world and they do have their downfalls but as with any camera you just adapt to it.

I finished uni in the UK and decided to try and escape the british winter for a year. I went straight to Australia and spent some time with some family and bought a car and drove everywhere.  I met up with some mates from the UK and through them met some local boogers. Shane Ackerman, Simon Longhurst, Eddie Read and Tom Young were always keen for waves and up for a new adventure. I went to Hawaii for 6 weeks, I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and it was absolutely crazy. I met Alex Uranga and we thought it would be a good idea to hire a camper and spend a month in WA and get as much filming done as possible.  I have a few more trips to do so we will see how they go.

How do you plan to release it?
The film is nearly complete, so I reckon it will be out near christmas and it will be released through the internet. I have some 'leftover' sections from Hawaii and Australia, so i will put them up soon. I will put any updates on samwerkmeister.tumblr.com
