The Azores Bodyboarding Festival

As the swell continued to drop Azores Bodyboarding Island Festical organisers were forced to move the event from Santa Catarina to a peak know as Saiga Jew in Porto.

Andrew Lester was the star of the day:
The former World Tour competitor now is to start a return 
the international stage was big, winning his heat with a total of 16.50, 
especially a big "backflip" maneuver high technical difficulty, and 
accompanied the transition to the next round by Pierre Louis Costes, world number two.
"I'm surprised," admitted the Australian, explaining the heat: "I was waiting for 
compete in Santa Catarina and did not know why this peak. But before entering 
analyzed how the waves broke and where I would position. Fortunately, 
things went well and showed good waves that allowed me to pass. " At start-up for this event, Lester said he bore no expectations. The question that 
was imposed today, after three heats very strong, it was continued: "I 
continue to assert that I have no major goals or expect anything special 
because if you change your attitude, I'm afraid of ruining this series ... "

In women's competition, both championship leader Eunate Aguirre of Spain and current World Champion Isabela Sousa passed the quarter-finals, postponing the decision 
2011 World Title for tomorrow, the last day of the championship.

The Men's Quarter Finals
Hugo Pinheiro (Port) vs Tom Rigby (Aus)
Jones Russell (Aus) vs Joe Clarke (Aus)
Andrew Lester (Aus) vs Yeray Martinez (Canaries)
Alex Uranga (Basque) vs Pierre-Louis Costes (Fra)

The Women's Semi Finals
Luz Marie Grand Perez (PR) vs Isabella Sousa (Bra)
Eunate Aguirre (Spn) vs Maylla Venturin (Bra)

So a 2011 women's World Champion will be announced by tomorrow morning and some of the much-desired GQS points for qualifying for the 2012 GSS World Tour will also be dealt out.
