Raw Nationals & Rebel Pro

This years National titles and Rebel Pro is just around the corner! 
Surf Beach in Kiama, NSW is again the venue for the 2012 RAW National Titles and Rebel Pro.
 
Around 250 of Australia’s best riders will be converging on the cozy holiday hamlet of Kiama to do battle for the mantel of Australia’s best bodyboarder.
 
The dates have been set for November 26 –December 2 2012.
 
Three separate events will be run during the weeklong festival beginning with the UNITE School Bodyboarding Championships on Monday 26th November.
 
As many as 50 of the States best young riders will represent their schools when competing in this 1 day competition.
 
Divisions include U/19’s, U/16’s and the John Eppo Cup for the best placed school.
 
Then from Tuesday 27th November the RAW National titles gets underway. This is the culmination of 12 months of grueling eliminations across all surfing states in Australia and New Zealand.
 
Ten amateur divisions spanning from the Grommets (under 13) to the Grand Masters (Over 45) will hit the water at the infamous Kiama wedge, a punchy left hander that, on it’s day, produces world class waves that are highly conducive to high performance bodyboarding.
 
The last three day of the carnival will also see some of the worlds best riders exchange blows in a heavyweight hit out of the professionals in the Rebel Pro, a 3 Star event offering 1000 points to the winner and $10,000 cash!

IBA Australasian General Manager Terry McKenna is excited to be heading South again for this years Nationals.
 
“ Kiama is the perfect setting for a contest of this magnitude” he said.
 
“ This is a wave rich area of the NSW coastline and is well suited to handle the large number of competitors and their families with a wide variety of accommodation options, ” he added.
