Some of the biggest bodyboard clubs in New South Wales went head to head last weekend for the chance to be crowned king of the Mid North Coast at the second annual inter-club challenge.
Bodyboarders from Newcastle Bodyboard Club, Central Coast Bodyboard Club, Port Stephens Bodyboard Club and Forster Tuncurry Bodyboard Association battled it out at Bulls Paddock, near Forster, for the two-day event.
Each club selected 17 riders for prone, dropknee and women’s to battle it out over the two days with each rider surfing three times. Each day ended with the presidents heat with each club Pres and Vice Pres battling it out for the rights to the highly coveted Presidents Cup.Waves pumped for the entire weekend, with a steady four foot swell lining the beach and being groomed by offshore winds. At the end of the final day it was Central Coat bodyboarders who took the crown from last year’s champions Newcastle, with Forster-Tuncurry finishing in third and Port Stephens in fourth.In the President’s Cup battle, it was Newcastle who took top honours over Central Coast.
