Champions crowned at APB Awards Night

He may have missed out on a third world title, but Reunion Island’s Amaury Lavernhe was recognised for his passion and commitment to bodyboarding at the APB Awards night in Puerto Rico.

The 30-year-old was crowned the 2015 APB Sportsman of the Year award on the night which also served as the closing ceremony of the Encanto Pro Cultura.

Joining Lavernhe was Brazilian supergrom David Barbosa, who was named the APB Rookie of the Year while APB judge Marc Rossouw who was voted the Best Judge of 2015.

The ceremony also recognised Jared Houston and Socrates Santana for their 2015 APB Men’s World Title and Pro Junior World titles, while Hawaii’s Jeff Hubbard was crowned the Encanto Pro champion for the second time.
