Watch all the highlights from Day One of the Shark Island Challenge

The 2016 Shark Island Challenge will go down in history as one of the biggest and best since its inception 19 years ago.

Many are calling the event the biggest since the historical 2001 event, which saw South African charger Alistair Taylor break his back.

Over the two days many slabs were charged, skin was lost to the rocky reef, and Gold Coaster Mitch Rawlins emerged victorious (read the full wrap up here).
