In big news for Bodyboarding, Australia’s Epicentre.TV and the Association of Professional Bodyboarders (APB) have signed a five-year agreement to broadcast the action‐packed World Bodyboarding Tour to global audiences, with the ultimate aim to feature all Grand Slam events live on TV by 2018.
This exciting broadcasting deal is a key part of the APB’s ability to secure a naming rights sponsor for the World Tour and increase overall prize money for each Tour event.
APB Chief Executive, Alex Leon, said the agreement will result in surf and sport fans around the globe seeing the spectacular action of the Tour’s best bodyboard riders taming the world’s best surf breaks.
“I am very excited about the prospect of working with Epicentre.TV and where this partnership will lead our sport into the future,”
This year’s world bodyboarding tour commenced at iconic locations such as Pipeline in Hawaii and Teahupoo in Tahiti, and saw one of the best contests ever held at the OpenLIVE Shark Island Challenge. Other stops on the tour include exotic locations such as Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Spain and the Canary Islands.
“I am very excited about the prospect of working with Epicentre.TV and where this partnership will lead our sport into the future,” said Leon.
